A Red Orchid Theatre announces new performance dates for its smash-hit production of Sam Shepard's Simpatico, directed by ensemble member Dado and featuring ensemble member Michael Shannon. Due to high ticket demand, the production is now extended through Sunday, September 15, 2013 at A Red Orchid Theatre, 1531 N. Wells. Tickets for the three-week extension are now on sale through the box office, (312) 943-8722 and www.aredorchidtheatre.org.

High society meets low life in the slippery netherworld of thoroughbred racing. This tragic-comedy explodes when a simple phone call threatens to undo years of blackmail and false identities. Loyalties run fierce or run completely a-muck as Vinnie and Carter reunite in hopes of settling an old score.

Simpatico features A Red Orchid ensemble members Michael Shannon (HBO's "Boardwalk Empire," Man of Steel) who most recently appeared at AROT in the world premiere of Craig Wright's Mistakes Were Made; Guy Van Swearingen, most recently seen in the world premiere of Brett Neveu's The Opponent; Mierka Girten, most recently seen as the title role in Becky Shaw; Jennifer Engstrom also seen in Becky Shaw; and Doug Vickers, most recently seen at A Red Orchid in The Mandrake.

"I am ecstatic to announce that due to popular demand from our record-breaking audiences, Simpatico will extend through September 15, 2013. I could not be more proud of the work that this creative team has done and continues to do. The story just keeps getting deeper and the actions even more satisfying," says Artistic Director Kirsten Fitzgerald.
