Photo Flash: A Broadway Smile's WE'LL TAKE MANHATTAN Charity Gala at Birdland
On June 2nd, cast members of A Broadway Smile's inaugural charity gala We'll Take Manhattan coming to New World Stages June 10th took the stage at Jim Caruso's Cast Party at Birdland to much ovation. Singing to raise awareness for the children of Operation Smile. Scroll down for photos from the concert!
Trevor McQueen (Annie Get Your Gun, Sunset Boulevard) began the set with Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart's touching 'Where or When' followed soon after by Hannah Elless (Godspell, Mamma Mia, The Other Josh Cohen) who brought the Birdlands Jazz Club to life with a hot rendition of 'Poor Jonny One Note'. Bryan Carter (MD, Drums) and Chris Pattishall (Piano) stole the show with a Birdlands first leaving their instruments and turning diners tables and silverware into impromptu percussion.
We'll Take Manhattan's director Caleb Ryan closed the night with a surprise uptempo version of 'Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered' a self confessed Rodgers and Hart favorite of his leaving the club in an air of excitement.
Next Tuesday, June 10th, these talents will be joined by Broadway favorites Telly Leung (Glee, Rent, Godspell, Flower Drum Song) and Laura Dreyfuss (Once, Hair, What's It All About?) with NBC's the Sing Off winner and Pentatonix lead vocalist Kirstie Maldonado.
