Two of cabaret's most popular and honored vocalists of the last decade, Tanya Holt and Marcus Simeone, bring their dynamic new show, Quiet Storm, to the Metropolitan Room for six Saturday shows running once monthly through November 16 (with a summer break.)

Quiet Storm tells compelling stories - in song. It is a wildly unique show of riveting duets and shattering solos featuring an eclectic mix of contemporary rarities and familiar tunes culled from the American songbook by a mixed bag of diverse and respected songwriters including: Matt Alber, Anita Baker, Mariah Carey, Jimmy Webb, Cole Porter, Comden & Green and Vincent Youmans. Collectively, the songs unfold haunting and whimsical stories of life and love as seen through the eyes of two powerful artists. The show will include never performed duets as well as some made famous by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell, Peabo Bryson and Roberta Flack and Julio Iglesias and Diana Ross.

After her incredible show-stopping performance at the 2010 Cabaret Convention at Jazz At Lincoln Center, Tanya Holt was hailed by press members as a "very valuable discovery." Writing in Show Business Weekly, critic Ethan Kanfer noted her, " ... gutsy, pure and powerful interpretations." She is currently working with Park Avenue Talent and will be appearing throughout the local area as well as out of town in the coming year. She has just received the coveted 2013 Bistro Award as outstanding vocalist (voted on by a team of highly regarded cabaret critics.) Tanya is also the former talent manager at Metropolitan Room.

Since taking the cabaret world by storm in 2001, Mr. Simeone has received cabaret's top honors along with great praise for his unique, multi-octave tenor voice that is unmatched in cabaret. He has often been compared to Johnny Mathis as well as Al Jarreau and Michael Jackson. He has appeared at the Cabaret Convention four times, been nominated for 13 MAC awards and won four as well as the coveted Back Stage Bistro Award as well, as Stu Hamstra's Cabaret Hotline Award for Best Male Vocalist. Mr. Simeone has been called "King of the power ballads" by Back Stage Weekly. He is currently wrapping up his fourth CD on the Miranda Music label. Writer/Song historian Will Friedwald has noted, "... his beautiful voice ... extremely wide range ... ability to switch effortlessly from baritone to tenor to falsetto ... ability to move easily between the worlds of pop, cabaret, theatre music, soul ... even jazz. Whatever he does, he it does it with complete sincerity."
