David Michael Finkelstein's Bar Mitzvah: The Musical Comedy In Concert

Where: 54 Below (254 W 54th Street)

When: January 27th at 7:00 PM

Tickets: $25-70 at http://54below.com/artist/david-michael-finkelsteins-bar-mitzvah-the-musical-comedy-in-concert/

Join us for the concert version of this all original new musical comedy, where the story takes place, well, at a Bar Mitzvah. Ruth, the matriarch of the bunch is the overbearing Jewish mother, butting into everyone's business - especially her daughter Sarah. Poor Sarah is just trying to make it through the event without one more person commenting on why she's not married yet. And father Irv rounds out the trio as he pretends he can't hear a word of what his wife is saying. Along comes Cousin Barry and his "girlfriend" Gina, a beautiful Italian manicurist, which of course leaves everyone confused because they all thought that Barry was gay! And then there's Matthew, the mystery man...who's also, (wait for it) a doctor!

After two successful runs in New Jersey (The Warehouse and The Forum Theatre) the crazy relatives are here and ready to talk behind your back.

Sue Fabisch is the author of Motherhood the Musical which has played to sold-out houses around the US as well as in Scotland and in a two-year tour around Australia. She is the writer (book, music and lyrics) of David Michael Finkelstein's Bar Mitzvah.

With Julie Waldman-Stiel (Cats, Fiddler on the Roof), Paul Whelihan (The Flame Keeper, Fiddler on the Roof), Joseph Spiotta (On the Town, Hairspray), Alicia Cordero (In the Heights), Arnaldo Ortiz (In the Heights, Children of Fatima), Cindy Summers (I Love You, You're Perfect Now Change; Nine).

Music Direction by Deborah Martin (New Jersey Shakespeare Festival).

Josh Canfield & Reed Kelly: From Broadway to Survivor

Where: 54 Below (254 W 54th Street)

When: January 27th & 28th at 9:30 PM

Tickets: $25-55 at http://54below.com/artist/josh-canfield-reed-kelly-from-broadway-to-survivor/

Broadway Boyfriends Josh Canfield (Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812) and Reed Kelly (Spider-Man, The Addams Family, Wicked) recently left Broadway behind and took on their most challenging roles yet as the masterminding power couple in this season of CBS's Survivor: San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua.

They competed against one another on Survivor, but now the Broadway Boyfriends are back and joining forces to bring their talents to 54 Below. Join us for an evening of Broadway tunes that have either lasted throughout the years or were "voted off the island"; perhaps some stories about what it was like trying to Survive on a hit reality TV show more cut-throat than a men's ensemble dressing room; but certainly and most importantly, an evening a fun, frivolity and a Broadway guest star or two!

On the show, Josh and Reed had to get by on a diet of mostly rice and fish, but you'll get to enjoy the delicious menu of 54 Below while taking in this unique evening of entertainment. So light your torches and get your Survivor Buffs ready for this epic night of "survival and show-tunes" at 54 Below.

Featuring special guests Krysta Rodriguez (First Date, Smash), Elizabeth Judd (Bare, Spider-Man), Tess Soltau (Far From Heaven, The Addams Family), and Lauren Zakrin (Rock of Ages, Legally Blonde).

Ellyn Marie Marsh: INNAPPROPRIATE

Where: 54 Below (254 W 54th Street)

When: January 31st at 11:30 PM

Tickets: $20-55 at http://54below.com/artist/ellyn-marie-marsh-inappropriate/

Currently in the hit show Kinky Boots, Ellyn Marie Marsh balances maintaining a busy Broadway career with playing mom to 5 year old Lola, who's too cavalier to care what Ellyn had to do to get her that Elsa dress!

In INAPPROPRIATE, Ellyn shares her sharp comedic wit and high belting, offering an evening of popular songs, musical theater songs, and of course, medleys- accompanied by stories of performing on Broadway and persuading her daughter to be doctor.

Ellyn's received accolades for her versatile performances: from Ellen's Stardust Diner to the rehearsal room for her Broadway debut as a replacement in Cry Baby, which closed before her first performance.

T Oliver Reid: Drop Me Off at Harlem

Where: Metropolitan Room (34 W 22nd Street)

When: February 1st at 7:00 PM

Tickets: $25-115 at http://metropolitanroom.com/event.cfm?id=183017

Singer and Broadway star T. Oliver Reid leads what he describes as "a club hopping journey through the swanky clubs and low down joints of 1934 Harlem," featuring the music of Duke Ellington, Harold Arlen, Andy Razaf, and more. In this new show, Reid performs each number with the unmistakable dramatic flair of a musical theater veteran, and he also provides an overview of the clubs, musicians, and social context of the music. Funny, informative, and a consummate showman, Reid will transport you back to the heyday of iconic venues like the Cotton Club. "In 1934, on a Saturday night in New York City, if you were boozin' and jazzin', you were doing it in Harlem." 80 years later, we're doing it right here at Metropolitan Room.
