Deadline reports that Zachary Levi, who will soon be seen in the NBC event series "Heroes Reborn", has inked a first-look deal with Universal TV.

Under the deal, the actor will develop and possibly star in a new half-hour single-camera musical comedy titled "Tuned" which he set up at NBC and Universal TV earlier this development season. The project was written by Deborah Kaplan and Harry Elfont, with Levi executive producing alongside Eva Longoria.

In addition, Levi may guest star on Longoria's upcoming straight-to-series NBC/Uni TV comedy Telenovela. He also will option and develop new projects for the studio.

Commented Universal TV EVP Bela Bajaria, "Zachary Levi is an extraordinary entertainer on every level, with great taste and smart instincts. We are fortunate to be working with him on our drama Heroes Reborn and can't wait to see what exciting projects come from our new deal with him."

Levi recently made his Broadway debut in the musical 'First Date.' He was last seen on NBC's hit show "Chuck." He was recently seen on the big screen in 2013 release of the Marvel film Thor: The Dark World in the role of Fandral the Dashing. He also recently appeared in feature films as the lead role opposite Mandy Moore in Disney's twist on its classic Rapunzel, entitled Tangled.

Levi appeared for four seasons of the hit ABC sitcom "Less than Perfect," as the quick-witted, scheming Kip Steadman. He also earned great reviews for his appearances on the hit shows, "Curb Your Enthusiasm," "The Division" and for his supporting role in the FX television movie Big Shot: Confessions of a Campus Bookie.
