On last night's LATE SHOW WITH STEPHEN COLBERT, in honor of the release of "The Carol Burnett Show: The Lost Episodes," Kevin Spacey surprised his idol Carol Burnett with a very special poem.

"There's actually somebody here tonight, and you are his idol," Colbert told Burnett, "and it's the actor Kevin Spacey, and he would like to come out and say hi." The HOUSE OF CARDS star then appeared and read the poem in his best Jimmy Stewart impersonation, which brought Ms. Burnett to tears.

Earlier in the show, while Stephen took a few questions from the audience, he nearly got on the bad side of one of comedy's greatest living legends. And Kevin Spacey explains who his "House of Cards" character, Frank Underwood is really talking to. Watch all the clips below!

THE LATE SHOW WITH STEPHEN COLBERT premiered on Tuesday, Sept. 8 on CBs.The show is broadcast from the historic Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City.

Prior to that, Colbert spent eight years as a correspondent on Comedy Central's "The Daily Show" as an on-air personality and writer of news satire for the Emmy and Peabody Award-winning series.
