The first look scene from BBC AMERICA's highly-anticipated DOCTOR WHO CHRISTMAS SPECIAL, The Return of Doctor Mysterio, was revealed today as part of BBC One's telethon for Children in Need (BBC's UK corporate charity). Check it out below!

The DOCTOR WHO Christmas Special premieres on BBC America on Christmas Day, Sunday, December 25.

The Doctor, played by Peter Capaldi, teams up with an investigative journalist, played by Charity Wakefield (Wolf Hall, The Player) and a superhero to save New York from a deadly alien threat. Matt Lucas (Bridesmaids, Little Britain) returns to the series as Nardole and Justin Chatwin (Orphan Black, Shameless) joins the cast in a guest starring role as Grant.

The special is written by Steven Moffat, executive produced by Brian Minchin, produced by Peter Bennett and directed by Ed Bazalgette (Poldark). It was shot in Cardiff at BBC Wales Roath Lock Studios.

The new season of DOCTOR WHO will premiere alongside the DOCTOR WHO spin-off Class in Spring 2017 on BBC AMERICA.

On Saturday, November 19 at 8:25/7:25c, BBCA premieres Doctor Who: The Power of the Daleks. 50 years after its only UK broadcast, the adventure has been regenerated with a brand new hand-drawn black and white animation, synchronized with a digitally remastered recording of the original 1966 audio.
