ESPN today announced that two-time WORLD SERIES Champion David Ross is joining the company as a Major League Baseball analyst. In this multi-year deal, the Chicago Cubs and Boston Red Sox Champion catcher will provide analysis for a variety of ESPN platforms, including its MLB studio coverage, SPORTSCENTER and for select games.

"I'm excited to dive right in and start talking baseball with my new colleagues at ESPN, said David Ross. "It truly is the worldwide leader in sports and I'm grateful for the opportunity to join this incredible team. We're going to have a lot of fun this season."

Ross has previously provided analysis for ESPN in a guest capacity, including during the 2014 and 2015 MLB Postseasons. The 15-year MLB veteran retired this past fall after winning the 2016 WORLD SERIES with the Chicago Cubs. In 2013, Ross was part of the Boston Red Sox team which went from worst to first and won the World Series.

Seth Markman, ESPN senior coordinating producer: "David is a proven leader with a natural combination of charisma, candor and humor which lends itself well to a media career. The expertise he's amassed during his memorable career, which includes the unique experience of winning WORLD SERIES Championships with two iconic franchises, will greatly benefit our audience."

On Jan. 13, 2017, the Chicago Cubs announced that Ross will remain with the organization as a special assistant to baseball operations.
