TODAY to Feature Olympic Athletes All This Week

After more than two weeks of broadcasting from across the pond in London for the Summer Games, NBC's TODAY returns to the States with an Olympic-sized week. The brightest Olympic stars who captured America's hearts will celebrate with a special homecoming on TODAY. Each day next week, Olympic athletes will serve as a special contributors on the program.

TODAY's contributing Olympians include: The Fierce Five, gymnasts Jordyn Wieber, Gabby Douglas, McKayla Maroney, Aly Raisman and Kyla Ross; gold medal diver David Boudia; soccer star Hope Solo; track and field sprinter Allyson Felix; and swimmers Cullen Jones and Katie Ledecky, Team USA's youngest member.

Also next week, TODAY presents a new series, "TODAY in History" where Matt Lauer, Savannah Guthrie, Al Roker and Natalie Morales each recreate a photograph that captured a moment in history. The series kicks off Monday when all four anchors "Come Together" as the Beatles on Abbey Road, with Guthrie as John Lennon. Lauer reaches new heights on Tuesday as Michael Jordan in his famous dunk shot. On Wednesday, Roker takes one small step as Buzz Aldrin on the moon. Then, Morales and her son re-create Charlie Chaplin's "The Kid," on Thursday.

TODAY adds more heat to the Toyota Summer Concert Series with five days of hot summer concerts. Rock band The Fray kicks off the week on Monday and Nicki Minaj brings the "Super Bass" to the Plaza on Tuesday. On Wednesday, country music superstar Carrie Underwood performs and Thursday brings music legend Lionel Richie. On Friday, famed 1990's boy band 98 Degrees reunites to perform live on TODAY in their first television concert in 10 years.

To jump start the week, on Monday, TODAY will show off a brand-new outdoor look. In the heart of Rockefeller Plaza, TODAY will debut a new high-tech studio exterior. Viewers at home can tune in to see the debut at 7 a.m. tomorrow.
