Matt Czuchry, who spent the last seven seasons on THE GOOD WIFE and is known for his role as 'Logan' in GILMORE GIRLS, is headed to FOX's new medical drama pilot, THE RESIDENT.

Deadline writes that Czuchry will star opposite Manish Dayal, who plays Devon Pravesh, described as "an idealistic young doctor who begins his first day under the supervision of a tough, brilliant and cocky senior resident, Conrad Hawkins (Czuchry) who pulls the curtain back on all of the good and evil in modern day medicine." Bruce Greenwood is also in the cast as Chief of Surgery Dr. Soloman Bell.

Amy Holden Jones, Hayley Schore and Roshan Sethi wrote the pilot, which will be directed by Phillip Noyce. Antoine Fuqua is producing.

Czuchry, known as 'Cary Agos' in CBS's THE GOOD WIFE and Rory's boyfriend 'Logan' in GILMORE GIRLS, recently returned to the latter franchise for its Netflix revival, A YEAR IN THE LIFE. Among his other TV credits are FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS, HACK and YOUNG AMERICANS.
