According to Deadline, Glenn Close, who last starred on Broadway opposite John Lithgow in A DELICATE BALANCE, has signed on for two upcoming films -- WHAT HAPPENED TO MONDAY? and SHE WHO BRINGS GIFTS.

Close will star alongside Noomi Rapace in Tommy Wirkola's sci-fi flick 'MONDAY?'.

From a script by Max Botkin and Kerry Williamson, the movie is "set in the not-too-distant future, where overpopulation and famine have forced governments to undertake a drastic One-Child Policy" and "seven identical sisters (Rapace) live a hide-and-seek existence pursued by the Child Allocation Bureau. The Bureau, directed by the fierce Nicolette Cayman, enforces a strict family-planning agenda that the sisters outwit by taking turns assuming the identity of one person. Taught by their grandfather who raised and named them after the days of the week, each can go outside once a week as their common identity, but are only free to be themselves in the prison of their own apartment. That is, until Monday does not come home."

'GIFTS', directed by PEAKY BLINDERS and SHERLOCK's Colm McCarthy, is adapted by MR Carey from his own novel, THE GIRL WITH ALL THE GIFTS. The film also stars Gemma Arterton and Paddy Considine.

The thriller follows "a seemingly normal and very intelligent little girl who lives in an underground army bunker with other children her age. They are all experimental cases being examined by scientists to find a cure for a fungal spore that has infected the planet."

Three-time Tony Award-winner Close has also appeared on Broadway in THE PLAY WHAT I WROTE, SUNSET BOULEVARD, DEATH AND THE MAIDEN, BENEFACTORS, THE REAL THING, BARNUM and more. Her upcoming projects include THE WIFE and THE GREAT GILLY HOPKINS. She has appeared on the big screen in FATAL ATTRACTION, ALBERT NOBBS, HEIGHTS, NINE LIVES, THE STEPFORD WIVES, the TV movie version of SOUTH PACIFIC, 101 and 102 DALMATIANS, TARZAN, IN & OUT, AIR FORCE ONE and many more films.
