The search for TRUE DETECTIVE's female lead continues.

According to The Wrap, HBO and creator Nic Pizzolatto are holding additional auditions for the highly-coveted role for the second season of the Emmy-winning anthology series. The new group of actresses up for the role include Jessica Biel, Rosario Dawson, Malin Akerman, Oona Chaplin, Jamie Alexander, Brit Marlin, and Kelly Reilly. Dawson is reportedly the team's first choice.

Elisabeth Moss and Rachel McAdams, who were reportedly in the running earlier this summer, also remain in the mix.

As previously reported, Colin Farrell and Taylor Kitsch have nabbed the lead male roles.

The first season of TRUE DETECTIVE was written by Pizzolatto and directed by Cary Fukunaga. It centered on two detectives, Rust Cohle (Matthew McConaughey) and Martin Hart (Woody Harrelson), whose lives collide and entwine during a seventeen-year hunt for a serial killer in Louisiana.

The investigation of a bizarre murder in 1995 is framed and interlaced with testimony from the detectives in 2012, when the case has been reopened.
