GLEE and American Horror Story mastermind Ryan Murphy has confirmed that he hopes for a return from two-time Tony Award-winning Broadway legend Patti LuPone on Season Four of the hit FX horror anthology series American Horror Story following her memorable character arc on this season's AMERICAN HORROR STORY: COVEN according to a new interview.

When questioned about her character's bleach-drinking scene on the most recent episode of the sensationalistic series, Murphy confirmed it was the coda for the character and actress - at least for this season.

"God bless Patti LuPone. Yes that is the end of Patti LuPone's character this season," Murphy stated.

Yet, Murphy hopes for LuPone to return to the series later this year when shooting begins on Season Four.

"You know there's always a place for Patti on the show," Murphy says.

Elaborating, Murphy reveals, "I wanted her to do more episodes. The thing about Patti is she has such an extensive life as a concert vocalist and she travels all over the country. We were just lucky to get her for the number of episodes we did. Everybody knows she's a great singer but I thought her acting was incredible. I thought she took a very big character and made it very real and relatable and not insane."

Murphy concludes, "I think she's fantastic."

Of note, LuPone previously guest-starred on a special NYC-set episode of Glee titled "New York", the Season Two finale.
