Rebel Wilson Joins Jason Moore's Movie Musical PITCH PERFECT

Rebel Wilson will co-star in the movie musical Pitch Perfect, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Pitch Perfect features a script by Kay Cannon and will be directed by Tony Award winner Jason Moore.

The film is based on Mickey Rapkin's book Pitch Perfect: The Quest for Collegiate A Cappella Glory, and will take place within the arena of college a cappella competitions.

Wilson will play Fat Amy, a member of the female a cappella group Divisi which goes head to head against a member from the male group known as the Treblemakers.

Wilson can currently be seen on screen in Bridesmaids is set to co-star in the film version of the hit Off-Broadway play Bachelorette.

Moore most recently directed the ACT production of Tales of the City in San Francisco. His additional theatre credits include: on Broadway, Shrek The Musical (Outer Critics and Drama Desk nominations for Best Director), Avenue Q (Tony nomination for Best Director) and Steel Magnolias. Carnegie Hall: Jerry Springer -The Opera. West End: Avenue Q. Off-Broadway: Speech and Debate (Roundabout Theatre Company), Avenue Q (Vineyard), Guardians (The Culture Project) and The Crumple Zone (Rattlestick). Regional: Tales of the City (American Conservatiory Theatre); Associate directing: Les Misérables (Broadway, USA tour) and Ragtime (Vancouver). Writer: The Floatplane Notebooks (Charlotte Repertory Theatre). Television: episodes of Dawson's Creek, Everwood, One Tree Hill and Brothers and Sisters. Jason has a BS in performance studies from Northwestern University
