On February 24th at 7:00pm ET, Pivot, Participant Media's television network, will air the U.S. TV premiere of CODEGIRL, a documentary about teams of young women competing in Technovation, an international competition that challenges female students to create life-changing mobile apps that will help solve societal issues.

From rural areas in Nigeria and India, to urban areas in the United States and Brazil, CODEGIRL follows girls from around the world as they embark on a challenging, yet rewarding journey to compete in Technovation as an attempt to make a lasting impact in their respective communities.

CODEGIRL features Technovation 2015 finalists Team Charis, creators of Discard-ious - an android app that facilitates proper waste disposal in Nigeria. Their stories are as inspiring as they are enlightening and entertaining, and telling them in CODEGIRL is helping the effort to propel a new generation of girls to seek their full potential in mobile tech.

Mobile application development is the fastest-growing industry in the world, but it has historically been dominated by men. This documentary, and the talented girls in it, works to buck that trend. Be sure to tune into CODEGIRL on February 24th at 7:00pm ET only on Pivot.
