Official: THE VIEW's Rosie Perez to Return Next Month

According to the New York Post, THE VIEW co-host and Broadway star Rosie Perez will officially not be leaving the ABC talk show, despite rumors of her exit. Reps told Page Six the actress will return on February 3, 2015.

"We look forward to welcoming the multitalented Rosie Perez back to her seat as co-host on the panel on Feb. 3 after completing rehearsals [her play]. She brings her rich life experience and passion to the table, something we've sorely missed while she's been away."

Perez had previously announced a winter hiatus to prepare for her run on Broadway in Larry David's Fish In the Dark.

BWW previously reported rumors that Perez was set to depart THE VIEW after just four months on the panel.

In response, ABC's news division told Deadline: "Her status with the show has not changed." To further debunk rumors of Perez's exit, fellow host Rosie O'Donnell announced on-air, "...no matter what you read anywhere, Rosie Perez is also coming back after she is done rehearsing her play."

Perez joined THE VIEW after Barbara Walters left last summer, along with new co-hosts Rosie O'Donnell and Nicolle Wallace.

Before Fish In the Dark, which debuts this spring, Perez appeared on Broadway in THE RITZ, RECKLESS, THE PLAY WHAT I WROTE and FRANKIE AND JOHNNY IN THE CLAIR DE LUNE.

She will next appear on the big screen in FIVE NIGHTS IN MAINE and recently starred in the films FUGLY!, THE BEING EXPERIENCE, GODS BEHAVING BADLY and THE COUNSELOR. Perez has also appeared on TV in THE CLEVELAND SHOW, LIPSTICK JUNGLE and more.
