Nicki Minaj Officially Out as AMERICAN IDOL Judge?

It shouldn't necessarily come as a surprise, but according to US Weekly, Nicki Minaj has been given the boot from Fox's AMERICAN IDOL.

"It's safe to say she isn't coming back to IDOL," an insider told the publication. "She's okay with it. She had a great time but was only going to do one season anyway.

The news comes just a week after IDOL staple Randy Jackson announced he'd be exiting the series come next season. Minaj's time on the show has largely been characterized by her infamous feuds with fellow judge/diva Mariah Carey, and her inability to be on time.

A few weeks ago, The Hollywood Reporter announced that IDOL execs were intent with replacing Carey midway through the season with former judge Jennifer Lopez. Within hours, Minaj was ready to fan the fire, tweeting: "All dem #1s but JLo phone ringin? Lol. I guess having a personality, being a secure woman, and giving genuine critique still trumps that." She added "What u SHOULD be doing (wit your messy ass) is asking why a woman SO successful at her age, is still so INSECURE, and bitter."

However, if she is actually a headache to producers and execs, Minaj may still not realize it. In an interview with BWW TV earlier this year, she said: "I don't have a worst IDOL moment. I've been spectacular. Yes, I'm going to toot my own horn."

Reports have also arisen that IDOL execs are prepared to dump Keith Urban, Mariah Carey, and long-time producer Nigel Lythgoe, as well.

IDOL wraps its current season this week on Fox, with part one of the finale airing tonight, and the winner being crowned tomorrow at 8 p.m.

Nicki Minaj is a Trinidadian-born American rapper, singer, songwriter and voice actress. She simultaneously became the featured "It" girl on a string of high-profile singles from artists such as Madonna, Mariah Carey, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Eminem, Rihanna, Lil Wayne, Drake, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Usher, Ludacris, Justin Bieber, Trey Songz and Alicia Keys. Minaj also has become the first female solo artist to have seven singles on the Billboard Hot 100 at the same time. Her seventh single, "Super Bass," has since been certified quadruple-platinum by the RIAA and has sold more than four million copies, becoming one of the best-selling singles in the United States.
