NBC's Sports App Adds Additional Connected TV Providers Prior to RIO OLYMPICS

In time for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, the NBC Sports app -- NBC Sports Group's live streaming product for mobile devices, tablets, and connected TVs -- is now available on the Xbox streaming platform and select Samsung devices for authenticated pay TV subscribers via TV Everywhere. In addition to Xbox and select Samsung device owners, cable, satellite and telco subscribers with Amazon Fire, Apple TV, Chromecast, Comcast's X1, Roku, Win10, Apple iOS and Android devices have access to more than 4,500 streaming hours of the Games.

Coverage of the 2016 Rio Olympics on the NBC Sports app includes live streaming of all competition and TV simul-stream coverage of nine NBCUniversal Olympic television networks. Competition can also be streamed on NBCOlympics.com for authenticated pay TV subscribers via TV Everywhere. Streaming on NBCOlympics.com and the NBC Sports app are powered by Playmaker Media.

As a complement to the live streaming available on the NBC Sports app, the NBC Olympics: Rio News & Results app and two digital-only programs - a social-focused video franchise, and a news desk that provides regular updates during the Games - will also be available to users. Prior to the start of the 2016 Rio Games, the NBC Sports app is approaching 18 million downloads across all platforms. The NBC Sports app streams more than 10,000 hours of live events a year, including all live sports content televised by NBC, NBCSN and Golf Channel. In addition to the Olympics, the NBC Sports app streams some of the most-watched properties and events in sports, including: the NFL; NHL; NASCAR; PGA TOUR; The R&A; PGA of America; horse racing's Triple Crown; Premier League; Tour de France; French Open; Formula One; IndyCar; studio content surrounding many of the aforementioned properties; original programming such as The Dan Patrick Show; and much more.
