NBC Sports to Cover Lindsey Vonn's Return to Competition This Weekend

Lindsey Vonn's return to competitive ski racing and men's World Cup skiing from Wengen - the world's longest and fastest downhill course - highlight NBC Sports Group's Olympic winter sports coverage this weekend.

NBC will televise coverage of the men's downhill from the Lauberhorn in Wengen on Saturday at 3 p.m. ET, and coverage of Vonn's return in the downhill in Altenmarkt-Zauchensee, Austria. Her race will be streamed live on NBC Sports.com and the NBC Sports app on Saturday at 4:45 a.m. ET.

This weekend's Olympic winter sports coverage also includes the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Freestyle Cup in Lake Placid, N.Y., as well as cross-country skiing, nordic combined, ski jumping and snowboarding.

NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app - NBC Sports Group's live streaming platforms for desktops, mobile devices, tablets, and connected TVs - will provide streaming coverage of this weekend's events.

LINDSEY VONN RETURNS TO COMPETITION

Vonn, the 2010 Olympic gold medalist who has won more World Cup races than any woman in alpine skiing history, is scheduled to compete for the first time in nearly a year at this weekend's FIS World Cup downhill race in Zauchensee. She has not competed since late February 2016, when she fractured her left knee while racing in Andorra. Her comeback was further postponed after she broke her right arm in a training crash in November. Vonn made history in Zauchensee last season, when she won the downhill to tie Austria's Annemarie Moser-Proell for the most downhill wins in women's World Cup history.

Coverage of the women's event in Austria begins tomorrow with streaming coverage of downhill training at 6 a.m. ET on NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app. Live streaming coverage of Vonn's return in the downhill will stream on Saturday morning at 4:45 a.m. ET, followed by highlights on NBC on Saturday at 3 p.m. ET. Sunday's streaming coverage features the super combined at 3:30 a.m. ET, which will be televised on UniversalHD that evening at 6 p.m. ET.

MEN'S WORLD CUP FROM WENGEN - COVERAGE BEGINS TOMORROW

The U.S. contingent in Wengen, Switzerland, this weekend will be led by two-time Olympic medalist Andrew Weibrecht and three-time Olympian Steven Nyman. Olympic gold medalist Aksel Lund Svindal of Norway, who won the downhill in Wengen last year, currently leads the World Cup downhill standings.

Coverage from Wengen begins tomorrow at 4:30 a.m. ET on NBCSports.com and the NBCSports app with the downhill portion of the super combined, followed by the slalom at 8 a.m. ET. Universal HD will air same-day delay coverage tomorrow at 5:30 p.m. ET, and airs live coverage of the downhill on Saturday at 6:30 a.m. ET. Sunday's streaming coverage of the slalom starts at 4:30 a.m. ET, with televised coverage airing on Universal HD at 6 p.m. ET.

Bill Doleman (play-by-play) and former World Cup ski racer Steve Porino (analyst) will call both events.

USSA FREESTYLE SKIING - SATURDAY AND SUNDAY ON NBC

NBC Sports presents freestyle skiing coverage with the USSA Freestyle Cup this weekend in Lake Placid. The U.S. brings a strong group into the aerials competition, led by a trio of World Cup champions - Kiley McKinnon and 2014 Olympians Ashley Caldwell and Mac Bohonnon. Canada boasts the top talent in moguls, including Olympic silver medalist Mikael Kingsbury, and sisters Justine and Chloe Dufour-Lapointe, who won gold and silver at the 2014 Sochi Games.

NBC presents the moguls competition on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. ET, followed by the aerials on Sunday at 4:30 p.m. ET. Todd Harris (play-by-play), Olympic gold medalist Jonny Moseley (analyst), and Tina Dixon (reporter) will call the action.
