MSNBC Takes Top Spot in Key Demo for Week of Nov. 26-30

MSNBC was the #1 cable news network among A25-54 in the Monday-Friday 7 p.m. – 2 a.m. time period for the week of Nov. 26-30 with 290,000 A25-54, topping both Fox News Channel (287,000) and CNN (106,000) in the demo. This is the first time MSNBC has ranked #1 in the M-F 7 p.m. – 2 a.M. Daypart since the week of Feb. 25, 2008 (Democratic debate – Clinton/Obama) and the first win otherwise since week of August 13, 2001.

MSNBC's "The Rachel Maddow Show" at 9 p.m. ET and "The Last Word with Lawrence O'Donnell" at 10 p.m. ET both beat Fox News Channel last week among A25-54. "Maddow" at 9 p.m. ET had a 39 share and 378,000 A25-54 vs. FNC's "Hannity's" 352,000 A25-54. "The Last Word" had a 44 share for the week and 359,000 A25-54 vs. FNC's "On the Record" with 245,000 A25-54.

MSNBC was #2 for the week in 8-11 p.m. primetime with 342,000 A25-54. FNC was first with 354,000 A25-54.

The re-air of MSNBC's primetime lineup topped Fox News Channel at 11 p.m., midnight, and 1 a.m. ET– "The Ed Show" at 11 p.m. ET had 268,000 vs. FNC's "O'Reilly Factor" with 262,000, "The Rachel Maddow Show" at midnight had 265,000 vs. FNC's "Hannity" with 199,000, and "The Last Word with Lawrence O'Donnell" at 1 a.m. ET had 202,000 vs. FNC's "On the Record" with 158,000 A25-54.
