According to The Hollywood Reporter, three-time Academy Award nominee Laura Linney has signed on to the cast of TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES 2. Based on the 1980's popular comic, the film is now in production in New York.

Megan Fox and Will Arnett will reprise their roles for the sequel, which also stars Arrow's Stephen Amell and Tyler Perry. No detail yet on the role Linney will playing.

The actress has recetly been seen on the big screen in Hyde Park on the Hudson and The Fifth Estate. She will soon star opposite Ian McKellan in Mr. Holmes. Other upcoming films include Genius, co-starring Colin Firth, Guy Pearce, Jude Law and Nicole Kidman.

Linney's extensive stage credits on Broadway and elsewhere include Hedda Gabler (for which she won a 1994 Joe A. Callaway Award), Holiday (based on the 1938 movie starringKatharine Hepburn), and her Best Actress Tony Award-nominated 2002 role in The Crucible (where she appeared alongside future The Exorcism Of Emily Rose co-star Jennifer Carpenter). She was nominated again in 2005 for Sight Unseen.

Linney most recently wrapped showtime's hit series THE BIG C, and has scored four Emmy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards and a Screen Actors Guild Award over the course of her career.
