NBC DEPORTES once again brings audiences all of the passion of Liga Premier soccer as the 2015-2016 season begins with Stoke City vs. Liverpool this Sunday, August 9 at 10:55AM/9:55C/7:55P, live from Britannia Stadium on TELEMUNDO. Sportscaster Copán Álvarez will provide viewers with his unique take on the game, with commentary by Chivas de Guadalajara star Manuel Sol.

Stoke City, the oldest club in the Liga Premier, starts the season determined to have a shot at classifying for the European-wide tournaments. Coach Mark Hughes, who has helped Stoke City figure among the top 10 teams of the last 40 years, is introducing a number of new faces to the lineup, including Glen Johnson and Dutch midfielder Marco Van Ginkel.

Liverpool itself is out to avenge its painful 6-1 loss to the Potters at the end of last season. The Reds are also fielding a number of new players following the loss three of its top performers: veteran Steven Gerrard, who left to join the MLS; Raheem Sterling, who will play for Manchester City; and, of course, Glen Johnson, now with Stoke City. Two expensive acquisitions in particular have been turning heads: Brazil's Roberto Firmino, who left the German leagues for a 21 million pound contract with Liverpool, and Belgium's Christian Benteke, lured away from Aston Villa for a whopping 32 million pounds. Also joining Liverpool this season are James Milner and Joe Gomez, a promising young defensive player from the UK.
