It's an epidemic overrunning New York City - the apparent rise of homeless people living on the streets of Manhattan. But who's to blame and how can the city help get people off the streets? Mary Brosnahan, President and CEO of the Coalition For The Homeless joins MetroFocus with an in-depth look at the problem and the solutions.

As Jewish people prepare to fast for Yom Kippur, MetroFocus whets all of our appetites with favorites to break the fast and more. This week the MetroFocus lens focuses on a new documentary, "Deli Man", that celebrates Jewish delis across New York, Long Island and the U.S. with favorites likes pickles, knishes and mile high pastrami, along with some of the men who helped make them popular - Jerry Stiller and Larry King.

According to the New York City Health Department, 95% of American adults exceed the recommended daily limit of salt. The Board of Health is responding to the crisis by requiring new salt warning labels on high sodium dishes sold at many fast food restaurants. As expected, the restaurant industry is crying foul. So who's in the right in the fight against salt? Michael Moss, investigative reporter and author of the New York Times bestseller, "Salt, Sugar, Fat: How The Food Giants Hooked Us," tells us how to separate the sodium from the spin.

MetroFocus teams up with The Atlantic, who gives us an inside look at the making of IFC's DOCUMENTARY NOW! series featuring SNL alumni and creators, Bill Hader, Fred Armisen and Seth Meyers. This interview will make you view documentaries through a new lens.
