According to The Hollywood Reporter, Chris Hemsworth ("Thor," "The Avengers") and Charlie Day ("Horrible Bosses," "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia") have been added to the cast of the reboot of the classic "Vacation" series.

Ed Helms is slated to assume the role of Rusty Griswold, the son of Clark and Ellen Griswold, played by Chevie Chase and Beverly D'Angelo in the original franchise. Both Chase and D'Angelo are expected to make cameos in the film, which starts shooting next month.

Hemsworth will play Stone Crandall, Rusty's brother-in-law, a hot-shot anchorman who is married to the other Griswold child, Audrey, who has not yet been cast. Day will play a river-rafting guide.

In the original "Vacation" series, the role of Rusty was played by Anthony Michael Hall ("Vacation"), Jason Lively ("European Vacation"), Johnny Galecki ("Christmas Vacation"), Ethan Embry ("Vegas Vacation"), and Travis Greer ("Hotel Hell Vacation").
