HBO Latino Original Series PSI Begins Third Season 4/14

On April 14, HBO Latino premieres Season 3 of the HBO Latin America original Brazilian production PSI, nominated for an International Emmy® in the Best Series category in 2015. Every Friday at 10PM ET, the channel will show a new episode with new adventures and cases of psychiatrist Carlo Antonini (Emílio de Mello, Emmy® International nominee for Best Actor), including one patient who wants to commit assisted suicide and another who wants to convert to Islam. Seasons one and two are available on HBO NOW, HBO GO, HBO On Demand and affiliate portals.

Created by Contardo Calligaris, who is also the scriptwriter and director, the series follows a different format from previous seasons-now there will be five stories divided into 10 episodes.

In the new season Carlo is diagnosed with potential lung cancer and undergoes surgery to prevent the disease from progressing. As a result of this experience, during his recovery he begins to have an existential crises and starts reexamining his past. While seeking answers to his personal dilemmas, Carlo returns to his practice and continues the therapy of his five most recent patients, who in one way or another, are also going through end-of-life situations and facing their own pasts. As usual, Carlo continues to intervene in people's lives whenever he deems it necessary. But now it is harder for him to accept the decisions of his patients and the fate they want to follow, based on his personal experience.

ABOUT PSI

During the first season, Carlo Less and less interested in "typical patients," was constantly seeking more dangerous adventures. Throughout the episodes, Carlo not only went through professional ups and downs, but he also had to deal with numerous family issues. The second season of the series began with Carlo's return to Brazil, after spending a year living in Venice. Invited by an ex-patient, the psychiatrist returns to the country to be a clinical coordinator of an NGO dedicated to taking care of domestic violence victims.
