Brazil, South America's biggest country, is world famous for its rich culture, vibrant cities and of course, soccer. But miles from the crowds, far away from The Hustle and bustle of vibrant city life, life moves at a different pace. Deep inside the Brazilian wilderness, three charismatic animal species strive to raise their families against a backdrop of hostile, untamed wilderness and erratic weather. In the US premiere of the Discovery Channel/BBC co-production BRAZIL GONE WILD premiering tonight, June 7 at 7PM ET/PT, viewers get an in-depth look at capuchin monkey, giant otter and coati families all struggling to survive in the unforgiving climates and rugged terrains of Brazil.

Despite all of Brazil's breathtaking beauty, there is also great danger here. Home to more species than any other nation on earth, this untamed wilderness is full of jaguars, caimans and other large predators just waiting for the perfect time to strike. In this two hour program, Discovery will take audiences on an intimate journey into the heart of Brazilian wildlife. The captivating footage tells a tale of love, perseverance and survival in some of the harshest conditions in the world. The three animal species at the heart of this documentary each have their own unique characteristics: capuchin monkeys, known for their high level of intelligence, endangered giant otters, growing up to six feet in length once full grown, and coatis, members of the raccoon family.

In part one of the special, airing at 7PM ET/PT, audiences will have the opportunity to see these amazing creatures up close and personal. Cameras captured everything from the babies' first swims and hunts, to the youngsters learning survival skills that will be essential when they venture out from under the watchful eye of their protective families. In part two, premiering at 8PM ET/PT, viewers will follow along as the adolescents put their new skills to the test, hoarding off predators and attempting to survive the unrelenting powers of Mother Nature.

BRAZIL GONE WILD is a Discovery Channel/BBC co-production. For BBC, Tim Scoones is executive producer with Lucinda Axelsson as series producer. For Discovery Channel, James Manfull is executive producer with John Cavanagh as producer.
