The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced today it will present Episodes 1 and 2 from Sundance Channel's hit THE RETURNED (LES REVENANTS), created by Fabrice Gobert and adapted from the 2004 film, THEY CAME BACK. On Saturday, November 23 at 4PM, the episodes will screen back-to-back, for free to the public, in the Amphitheater at the Film Society of Lincoln Center's Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center. A Q&A will immediately follow the screening with producers Carole Scotta, Jimmy Desmarais and Caroline Benjo. The event will be co-presented by the Cultural Services of the French Embassy and Music Box Films.

In an idyllic French Alpine village, a seemingly random collection of people find themselves in a state of confusion as they attempt to return to their homes. What they do not yet know is that they have been dead for several years, and no one is expecting them back. Buried secrets emerge as they grapple with this miraculous and sinister new reality, struggling to reintegrate with their families and past lovers. But it seems they are not the only ones back from the dead. Their arrival coincides with a series of gruesome murders that bear a chilling resemblance to the work of a serial killer from the past...

A gripping, stylish mix of real and surreal, the highly cinematic The Returned (Les Revenants) features a wide range of top French film actors and a haunting, atmospheric soundtrack by Scottish post-rock band Mogwai. The Returned was also a smash hit last year on French television and the highest rated subtitled drama on any UK channel in nearly a decade. The series was produced by Haut et Court for Canal + Original Programming and was also recently broadcast on Channel 4 in the UK. The series is nominated for an International Emmy Award for Best Drama Series and is receiving US distribution through Music Box Films and can currently be seen on the Sundance Channel and digital VOD platforms. The DVD and Blu-ray release is set for January 21, 2014. For more information, go to www.musicboxfilms.com/thereturned or www.sundancechannel.com/series/the-returned.

Currently airing on Sundance Channel on Thursdays at 9:00 PM, The Wall Street Journal described the series as "a superbly stylish and scary French drama with no equal in its genre." The New York Times recently profiled this outstanding foreign drama series and pronounced it "fresh and unexpected." The Los Angeles Times proclaimed, "the best series of the fall, possibly of the year."

Episode 1 - Camille
