Variety reports that FOX has officially cancelled the '24' spin-off series 24: LEGACY. Twelve episodes of the action drama aired on the network earlier this year. 20th Century FOX Television is said to be considering future versions of the franchise with a potential anthology series.

The series starred Corey Hawkins, Miranda Otto and Jimmy Smits. In Nielsen live-plus-seven numbers, "24: Legacy" averaged a 2.1 live-plus-seven rating in the 18-49 demo, ranking it 34th among all broadcast series for the season.

24 LEGACY followed a military hero's return to the U.S. and the trouble that follows him back - compelling him to ask CTU for help in saving his life, and stopping what potentially could be one of the largest-scale terror attacks on American soil. Told in real time with split screens, each episode will represent one hour of an eventful day.
