Telemundo announced the premiere of its new national weekend newscast, "Noticiero Telemundo Fin de Semana," on Saturday, October 4 at 5 pm/4 C. Produced by Noticias Telemundo, the award-winning news division of Telemundo Network, the new weekend newscast will air every Saturday and Sunday and will be anchored by Telemundo's journalist Edgardo del Villar.
"'Noticiero Telemundo Fin de Semana' further confirms our commitment to inform our audience seven days a week, all year long," said Alina Falcón, Telemundo's Executive Vice-President for News and Alternative Programming. In Mexico, Del Villar anchored "Las Noticias," Televisa's PRIMETIME newscast in Monterrey. In addition to his work on television, he spent more than a decade as news director and anchor for various radio networks, including MVS, Radio Fórmula and Núcleo Radio Monterrey, and advisor to the editorial board of Grupo Reforma, Mexico's largest media group.
