ESPN's NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championship Generates Most-Viewed Games Since 2012

ESPN's NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championship Presented by Capital One Regional Final doubleheader on Monday, March 30, generated the most-viewed and third most-viewed women's Regional Finals games since 2012. With 1,540,000 viewers, No. 1 SEED Maryland's 58-48 win over No. 2 SEED Tennessee - the second game of the network's exclusive coverage - is the most-viewed women's Elite Eight game since 2012 (Tennessee-Baylor in 2012 averaged 1,654,000 viewers).

Top-seeded UConn's 91-70 victory over No. 7 SEED Dayton in the first telecast is the third most-viewed women's Elite Eight game since 2012, averaging 1,419,000 viewers. ESPN's 2013 coverage of Louisville and Tennessee is the second most-viewed with an average of 1,429,000 viewers

Top Four Markets Represents Four Teams in Action Monday

The home markets of the four teams in Monday's Regional Finals grabbed the top metered markets. The Hartford-New HAVEN market took the top spot for the UConn-Dayton telecast, averaging a 13.7 rating, which is the largest overnight rating in a local market this season in women's college basketball. Dayton finished second with a 7.9 rating, marking the highest ever overnight in the market for an ESPN WOMEN'S COLLEGE BASKETBALL telecast. Knoxville (3.9), Baltimore (2.5), NASHVILLE (2.1) and Greenville (2.0) rounded out the top six markets.

Knoxville topped all markets for the Tennessee-Maryland matchup, averaging a 12.9 rating, the highest rating this season for a WOMEN'S COLLEGE BASKETBALL game in the market. Hartford-New HAVEN was second with a 5.9 rating, followed by Baltimore (5.8), NASHVILLE (5.0), Dayton (2.9), Washington, DC (2.5) and Memphis (2.2).

Tickets have been punched to the Women's Final Four from Amalie Arena in Tampa Bay, Fla., featuring the four top seeds in the tournament - UConn, Maryland, Notre Dame and South Carolina. The teams will Face Off on Sunday, April 5, on ESPN and WatchESPN, beginning with South Carolina vs. Notre Dame at 6:30 p.m., followed by Maryland against UConn at 8:30 p.m. Play culminates with the NCAA Women's National Championship game on Tuesday, April 7, at 8:30 p.m. ET on ESPN and WatchESPN.
