ESPN to Air Armed Forces Classic with Georgetown & Oregon, 11/8

Georgetown and Oregon will meet in the second installment of the Armed Forces Classic - this year from United States Army Garrison Humphreys in Pyeongtaek, South Korea, on Friday, Nov. 8, at 8 p.m. ET, on ESPN. Coverage begins with the SportsCenter Special: Armed Forces Classic pregame show at 7:30 p.m. The game is the centerpiece of ESPN's fifth annual America's Heroes: A Salute to Our Veterans - a five-day initiative that honors veterans and troops in programming across the company's U.S. media platforms from Wednesday, Nov. 6 through Sunday, Nov. 10. The game - housed in the Army's three-story, 110,000 square foot Humphreys Community Fitness Center - will be played at 10 a.m. local time on Saturday morning, 14 hours ahead of the U.S. east coast.

Georgetown is picked to finish second in the BIG EAST preseason poll, while No. 19 Oregon is slated fourth in the Pac-12 preseason media poll.

The game helps tip the start of the 2013-14 college basketball season across ESPN networks.

Game & Studio Coverage

· Play-by-play veteran Dan Shulman will have the call of the game with analyst Jay Bilas and on-court reporter Andy Katz.

· The SportsCenter Special will be hosted by anchor Kevin Connors and analyst Jay Williams live from Camp Humphreys. The duo will also provide halftime and postgame coverage.

· SportsCenter with Hannah Storm and Kevin Negandhi will air from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md. SportsCenter will include reports from Camp Humphreys.

· Georgetown's John Thompson III will join the SportsCenter Special live..

The Armed Forces Classic is a series of Division I college men's basketball games to be played on United States military bases worldwide over a five-year rotation (one game per branch of service at a different Military installation). Last season, unranked Connecticut upset No. 14 nationally ranked Michigan State 66-62 in the inaugural Armed Forces Classic held in a C-5 transport airplane hangar on Ramstein Air Base in Germany.
