EL VATO Continues Exclusively on NBC Universo Tonight

NBC UNIVERSO, the modern entertainment and sports cable channel for Latinos, announced today it will continue the exclusive broadcast of EL VATO, the first original scripted series created for the Hispanic market in the U.S. starring Mexican regional star, El Dasa tonight, April 24 on NBC UNIVERSO at 10pm/9c. Last Sunday's episode introduced viewers to El Vato (El Dasa), an aspiring regional Mexican singer who just landed a record deal in Los Angeles. Along with his childhood friends, Mariana (Cristina Rodlo), El Pollo(Gustavo Egelhaaf) and Brandon (Ricardo Polanco), the four tackle their dreams of reaching stardom. El Vato soon faces obstacles on his path to fame when the popular singer Marcos Gutiérrez (Mauricio Martínez) crashes his album launch party. In front of the ever-present paparazzi, the singers battle it out with a powerful duet. But El Vato's chance of music stardom quickly fades when the party is interrupted by FBI agents who arrest the head of his music label.

This Sunday, El Vato and his friends do whatever it takes to avoid going back home, to Mexico, defeated. To get noticed, the foursome will try to crash legendary music mogul Lolo's (Horacio Castelo) party in hopes of catching his eye. El Vato's destiny takes a turn when he encounters the megastar, Sultana del Norte, played by actress Itatí Cantoral.
