Disney Channel Sweeps Key Kid Demos for Third Straight Week

For the week of September 9, 2013, driven by all-new episodes of hit series "Jessie," "Good Luck Charlie" and "Austin & Ally," along with newcomers "Liv and Maddie" and "Wander Over Yonder," Disney Channel ranked as the decisive #1 TV network in Total Day across Kids 2-11 (827,000/2.1 rating), Kids 6-11 (563,000/2.4 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (490,000/2.0 rating) - marking its 3rd consecutive week sweeping the major youth demographics - and was the #1 entertainment cable TV network for the 2nd week in a row in Total Viewers (1.50 million).

The #1 TV network 118 straight weeks, Disney Channel more than doubled runner up Nickelodeon in Tweens 9-14 (+120% - 490,000 vs. 223,000), marking its biggest competitive advantage in nearly 6 months in the demo, and recorded its largest edge in 2 months in Kids 6-11 (+56% - 563,000 vs. 360,000) - since weeks of 4/1/13 and 7/15/13, respectively.

In Prime, Disney Channel stood as cable TV's #1 network for the 435th week in a row among Kids 6-11 (1.01 million/4.2 rating - 8+ years) and 172nd in Tweens 9-14 (892,000/3.7 rating - 3+ years).

Friday's all-new 1-hour "Jessie" (8:00 - 9:00 p.m.) became the series #2 telecast on record in Total Viewers (4.77 million), Kids 2-11 (2.87 million/7.3 rating) and Kids 6-11 (2.37 million/10.0 rating), standing as the week's #1 TV telecast across the target kid categories.

Powered by Friday's all-new episode, Disney Junior's "Sofia the First" ranked as the week's #1 cable TV series in Kids 2-5 (584,000/3.8 rating) and Girls 2-5 (325,000/4.3 rating), and was the #1 preschool cable TV series in Total Viewers (1.58 million) and Women 18-49 (317,000/0.5 rating).

Overall, the block aired the week's Top 4 cable TV telecasts in Kids 2-5 with "Sofia the First," "Jake and the Never Land Pirates" and "Doc McStuffins":

24-Hour Disney Junior Channel

The 24-hour Disney Junior channel ranked as cable TV's #1 preschool-dedicated network in Total Day for the 24th straight week with Kids 2-5 (198,000/1.3 rating) and Boys 2-5 (103,000/1.3 rating) - each week since reporting public ratings on 4/1/13 - for the 7th week in a row in Girls 2-5 (96,000/1.3 rating) and for the 23rd time in the previous 24 weeks in Total Viewers (385,000).

Disney Junior channel towered over Nick Jr. for the 24th week in a row in Kids 2-5 (+25% - 198,000 vs. 158,000) and Boys 2-5 (+39% - 103,000 vs. 74,000), for the 7th straight week in Girls 2-5 (+14% - 96,000 vs. 84,000) and for the 23rd time in the prior 24 weeks in Total Viewers (+22% - 385,000 vs. 316,000), despite Being in 14.8 million fewer homes.

Disney Junior channel out-performed Sprout by triple digits for the 24th consecutive week across core demos: Total Viewers (+133% - 385,000 vs. 165,000), Kids 2-5 (+171% - 198,000 vs. 73,000) and Boys 2-5 (+212% - 103,000 vs. 33,000), and by at least double digits for the 24th week running in Girls 2-5 (+140% - 96,000 vs. 40,000).
