Wayans Jr. left the show after the pilot in 2011 to continue his run in Happy Endings. He was replaced by Winston (Lamorne Morris) as the loft's fourth roommate, alongside Nick (Jake Johnson), Schmidt (Max Greenfield) and Jess (Zooey Deschanel).

Wayans Jr. will now appear in a six-episode arc this season, following Coach's decision to move in with Schmidt.

Wayans Jr. is currently working on a comedy with Jason Winer for Fox and will next appear in the feature films Someone Marry Barry, and Let's Be Cops. His past screen credits include the movie The Other Guys and the TV series The Underground and My Wife and Kids.

NEW GIRL is produced by Chernin Entertainment in association with 20th Century Fox Television. The series was created by Elizabeth Meriwether. Meriwether, Brett Baer, Dave Finkel, Jake Kasdan, Peter Chernin and Katherine Pope are executive producers, with Meriwether, Baer and Finkel serving as co-showrunners/writers and Kasdan directing multiple episodes of the series.
