On Sunday night's EMMY AWARDS, host Jimmy Kimmel was adamant that if actress Maggie Smith was the recipient of the award for Best Actress in a Drama Series, he would do everything in his power to keep the trophy from getting into her hands.

The late show host's "fury" stemmed from the fact that Ms. Smith has never actually attended THE EMMY AWARDS ceremony, despite having won four times over the years and been nominated nine times.

When it was announced later in the evening that the actress did in fact pick up her fifth Emmy for her role as Violet Crawley, Dowager Countess of Grantham in the popular British drama series DOWNTON ABBEY, Kimmel interrupted the show by grabbing the statuette and announcing that if Ms. Smith was interested in claiming it, she would have to see the Emmy's "Lost and Found" later in the week.

Yesterday, Maggie Smith graciously accepted her Emmy Award, and requested that Kimmel "please direct me to the lost and found office." Check out the hilarious Facebook post below:

An award-winning actress, Maggie Smith has appeared on Broadway in LETTTICE AND LOVAGE, NIGHT AND DAY, PRIVATE LIVES and NEW FACES OF 1956.
