NBCUniversal named Cesar Conde to the newly created position of Chairman, NBCUniversal International Group and NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises. NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises, which is being added to his responsibilities, includes the Telemundo Network, NBC Universo Cable Network, Telemundo International, Telemundo Local Stations, Telemundo Digital Media and Emerging Business and NBC Deportes. Conde begins October 12 and will continue to report to Steve Burke, CEO, NBCUniversal.

Joe Uva who previously oversaw the group will transition into an advisory role working on the NBC Deportes move from Hialeah to the NBC Sports Group's state-of the-art broadcast facility in Stamford, CT. NBC Deportes produces all sports events for Telemundo, NBC Universo and the Hispanic digital platforms, including the upcoming 2016 Rio Olympics and the first of three FIFA World Cup broadcasts beginning 2018 in Russia.

"Telemundo is one of the fastest growing parts of our company and an important area of focus for us," said Burke. "I am confident that Cesar's deep knowledge of the business and keen understanding of the changing marketplace make him the right leader to help build on its strong momentum."

Added Burke, "Two and half years ago I asked Joe to take over our Hispanic initiatives and in that time, Joe's leadership has helped to propel Telemundo's record growth. Telemundo's market share is at an all-time high; it has significantly closed the ratings gap with Univision; and has consistently been number one during the important 10 p.m. time period. A couple of months ago Joe and I began talking about his successor and we agreed that Cesar was the perfect choice. Cesar and I have asked Joe to stay on as Senior Advisor for the next several months to help with the transition and the move of NBC Deportes to Stamford."

Most recently, Conde was Executive Vice President at NBCUniversal. Conde joined NBCUniversal in October 2013 from Univision, where he served as President since 2009. Conde, who joined Univision in 2003, served in a variety of senior executive capacities and is credited with transforming the company into a leading global, multi-platform media brand growing its portfolio from three to 12 broadcast and cable networks.

Prior to Univision, Conde served as the White House Fellow for Secretary of State Colin L. Powell from 2002-2003. Before his public service, he worked in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group at Salomon Smith Barney.

Conde is a Trustee of the Aspen Institute and the Paley Center for Media, as well as a Full Member at the Council on Foreign Relations and a Young Global Leader for the World Economic Forum. He sits on the boards of the Foundation for Excellence in Education and the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanics. He holds a B.A. with honors from Harvard University and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
