CBS THIS MORNING Posts Year-to-Year Gains Across the Board

CBS THIS MORNING delivered the Network's best competitive position to NBC in the time period in 22 years and to ABC in 17 years, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending June 3. CBS THIS MORNING was also the only network morning news broadcast to post year-to-year gains across the board.

For the week, CBS THIS MORNING delivered 3.71 million viewers (+8%, from 3.44m), 0.9/08 with adults 25-54 (+13%, from 0.8/07), 1.0/08 with women 25-54 (+11%, from 0.9/07) and 0.7/07 with women 18-49 (+17%, from 0.6/06) compared with the same week a year ago. CBS THIS MORNING's growth continues while its competitors continue to decline. ABC posted year-to-year declines across the board for the week ending June 3: -7% in viewers, -20% in adults 25-54, -11% in women 25-54 and -8% in women 18-49, compared with last year. NBC is also down in key measures: -5% in both viewers and women 25-54, -7% in both adults 25-54 and women 18-49, compared with the same week last year.

CBS THIS MORNING added +270,000 viewers compared with the same week last year, and it closed the viewership gap with ABC by 630,000 viewers and cut the deficit with NBC by almost half a million (490,000) viewers. CBS THIS MORNING was in its closest competitive position in the time period with NBC (670,000) since the week ending December 31, 1994, and its closest competitive position with ABC (-920,000) since the week ending February 19, 1999.

Television year-to-date, CBS THIS MORNING is the only network morning news broadcast to post gains, while ABC and NBC decline, according to Nielsen most current ratings. CBS THIS MORNING is up +8% in viewers (3.67m from 3.39m), up +17% in women 18-49 (0.7/06 from 0.6/06) and up + 11% in women 25-54 (1.0/07 from 0.9/07), and matched its adults 25-54 ratings (0.9/07), compared with last year.

Television year-to-date, ABC is delivering declines in all measures: -9% in viewers, -18% in both adults 25-54 and women 25-54 and -20% in women 18-49, compared with last year. NBC is also down across-the-board: -3% in viewers, -6% in adults 25-54, -10% in women 25-54 and -7% in women 18-49 compared with last year.

CBS THIS MORNING has delivered year-over-year audience growth for 44 consecutive months while ABC has declined 25 consecutive months and NBC has declined 24 consecutive months. ABC has not experienced year-over-year monthly gains since April 2014, and NBC has not posted gains since May 2014.
