CNN reports that Shannon Purser, best known as 'Barb' from Netflix's hit series STRANGER THINGS, has joined the cast of the NBC pilot DRAMA HIGH. The actress can currently be seen in a recurring role on The CW's RIVERDALE. As BWW reported last week, MOANA star Auli'i Cravalho recently landed a supporting role in the NBC pilot.

DRAMA HIGH hails from executive producers Jason Katims ("Friday Night Lights," "Parenthood") and Jeffrey Seller (producer of the Broadway sensation HAMILTON). Based on the book "Drama High" by Michael Sokolove and life rights of Lou Volpe. Inspired by a true story, "Drama High" introduces us to an extraordinary working class high school drama department and the incredible students who come alive under a passionate teacher and family man whose dedication to the program galvanizes the entire town.

DRAMA HIGH is not a series order, but a pilot order. NBC will be making decisions on which pilots will be ordered to series as we get closer to the May Upfronts.
