Fresh into his downward spiral post Joe's execution, Ryan has a long road ahead of him. With only a few episodes left in this season (or series?), will Ryan be able to pull himself back onto the wagon?

After a long bender, Ryan wakes up beside a strange woman and when he goes home to Gwen, not only can she smell the alcohol, she can smell the betrayal and ends thingsbetween them. She calls Max to watch him. Max's plan is to bury him in work as the last tip Joe gave him actually did turn into a lead. A murder of a family in Philadelphia in the 1980's left one survivor, a son; Terrence Jackson aka Theo. Ryan is reminded of a serial killer in Philadelphia in the 80's called "The Mad Man" (really?) and decides to take Max and Mike there to visit his former colleague, Lisa. The four of them dig into the Mad Man files to find out if he was the murderer of Theo's family.

Meanwhile, Theo and Penny find that the coordinates they decoded in Juliana's journal lead them to a mansion with a heavy security team as it preps for a big, exclusive party. They hijack a limo and hack their way into the party only after the victims warn them not to mess with "Eliza." Inside the mansion, upon witnessing very disturbing acts, they kill Eliza's security team and come face to face with Eliza (who was a bit of a cartoon character villain). Theo offers to deliver Ryan Hardy to her for a price to be named later.

Daisy and Mark are still after Mike and Ryan. Daisy offers to track down her hacker friend, Silas to figure out who stole Daisy's laptop with the surveillance equipment. She tries to bond with Mark as they are both lost without their soulmates, Kyle and Luke. Silas tracks the computer to the FBI, but that's as far as he can go. Daisy says she knows of another hacker, but he's super dangerous. Hmmmm, who could it possibly be?

Tom, meanwhile, is getting antsy that IA's investigation is getting closer and closer to him. He manages to fend them off for a while, but when one shows up at his house and figures out it was him, a kerfuffle ends in her gun going off and killing her. I'm thinking that Tom and Max may not work out, at this point.

Back in Philly, Max and Mike get a lead on a location to the Mad Man aka Oleg, Ryan lies to Lisa and goes to investigate on his own. He gets to the house and quickly discovers more than enough evidence to see that Oleg is indeed the "Mad Man." He and Oleg have, kind of a wimpy, struggle and Oleg escapes. Lisa is infuriated that Ryan went off on his own again and Max is genuinely worried as she knows Ryan was drunk again. Oleg tracks Ryan down to the hotel. He kills the front desk guy and smashes the mirror. Apparently, he's terrified of mirrors. Ryan is leaving and notices the dead clerk and the mirror and runs upstairs to save Lisa from being killed, but it is Lisa who has to stop Ryan from killing Oleg. They are able to question Oleg who admits that Theo asked Oleg to kill his family and only spare his foster sister, "Sophia." Oleg tells Ryan that Theo is a demon just like himself. When Ryan arrives home, Gwen has moved out and he is left alone with his hallucination of Joe.

So as we are winding down Season Three, the stories are finally starting to come together. At last there is a reason Mark and Daisy are still around, they have a connection to Theo. Their storyline is still the least interesting to me, but hey, at least there's some sort of a tie in. I don't know if I'm sheltered or what, but I shutter to think that there are actually parties like the one in the mansion that exist in the world just for rich men to do their worst to willing participants. Maybe sheltered isn't the right word, but still; it's horrifying. I think I'm most interested right now in Max, Mike and Tom and seeing how that whole thing will play out. Tom is going through a downward spiral of his own right now and I really don't know how he will pull out of it. I know Ryan will persevere at some point and find out that he will be a father. Unless he does go full Joe. No one would see that coming. It sure would be a twist, but I don't see it happening. Not to our hero. It looks like there will be plenty of confrontations and kidnappings in the next few episodes. There are only two episodes left (two hours each night) to wrap this all up. I'm guessing we haven't seen our last brutal and nightmarish death of the season, so I can only imagine what is in store.
