Universal Pictures has just announced that JURASSIC PARK 4 will officially be released in theaters on June, 13, 2014.

The film, which is set to be shot in 3D, will be produced by original director Steven Spielberg. No other details are known at this point, however, if the studio wishes to make a Summer 2014 release, production is suspected to begin relatively soon.

The announcement comes just after the studio revealed that the 3D digitally remastered version of JURASSIC PARK would be released on April 5 for one week only.

Following Spielberg's decision to forego ROBOPOCALYPSE for now, it appears as if JURASSIC PARK 4 will be his project-of-choice for the moment. That is, after Oscar season. Spielberg's Lincoln was just nominated for 12 awards, including 'Best Picture.'

The last installment in the franchise came in 2001, with JURASSIC PARK 3.
