BAFTA Anounces Key Dates & New Rules for Film Awards

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) has announced today the full list of key dates for THE EE BRITISH ACADEMY FILM AWARDS in 2017, and has also published the Film Awards Rules and Guidelines for 2016/17.

As previously announced, THE EE BRITISH ACADEMY FILM AWARDS 2017 will take place on Sunday 12 February, and nominations will be announced on Tuesday 10 January.

The British Academy Britannia Awards in Hollywood is a key event in the awards season, with this year's ceremony taking place on Friday 28 October 2016, when Ang Lee, Ricky Gervais and Samuel L Jackson, amongst others, will be honoured by BAFTA Los Angeles.

Friday 21 October - Entry deadline for Stage One submissions

Wednesday 14 December - Round One voting opens

Thursday 15 December - Films released in the UK after 1 January 2017 must be screened to BAFTA voters by this date to qualify

Tuesday 3 January - Round One voting closes (18:00 GMT)

Tuesday 10 January - Nominations Announcement; Round Two voting opens

Wednesday 8 February - Round Two voting closes (18:00 GMT)

Friday 10 February - All entered films to open on general release to the public by this date

Sunday 12 February - EE British Academy Film Awards
