Veteran anchor and reporter Alisyn Camerota has joined CNN Worldwide as an anchor. She begins today. Camerota comes to CNN after 16 years at Fox News Channel, which she left in March.

"I have been a fan of Alisyn's for a very long time, and couldn't be happier that she has agreed to come to CNN," said Jeff Zucker, President, CNN Worldwide. "She is not only a seasoned journalist with a great Curiosity and passion for the news, but she has a presence on camera that I think is very hard to find. I can't wait to have her on the air at CNN."

Camerota will contribute to all programs across CNN. A permanent role will be announced in the coming months.

"From the moment Jeff Zucker shared his vision for innovative storytelling at CNN, I wanted to be part of it," said Camerota. "I know the power of cable news and it's exciting to be going to the place that invented it and continues to be the standard bearer for stories of international import. I've always admired the fine work of the journalists at CNN and I'm honored to join their ranks."

Most recently, Camerota served as co-host of America's News Headquarters on Fox News Channel. Before that, she co-anchored FOX & Friends Weekend and contributed to the FOX & Friends weekday franchise where she covered the gamut of hard news and human interest stories. Camerota was live on the air as the Iraq War began, the Space Shuttle Columbia exploded, and countless other breaking news events. Prior to her role as anchor, she served as National Correspondent in the network's Boston bureau, which included overseas assignments in London and Rome.

Before joining FOX, Camerota was a correspondent and substitute host for NBC's national daytime magazine show, REALlife, traveling the country and telling stories of compelling people. She also served as a reporter at WHDH-TV, the NBC affiliate in Boston, and ABC6 in Providence, Rhode Island. She spent five years as a crime reporter for the program America's Most Wanted. Camerota attended The American University on an academic scholarship and graduated cum laude. Her first job in news was helping to research and produce Ted Koppel's award-winning documentaries. Her work contributed to the receipt of a prestigious DuPont award. She is Married and has three children.
