Contactmusic.com, reports that superstar singer Adele has recorded the official theme song for the upcoming James Bond film SKYFALL. The report ends months of speculation and rumors that the singer would voice the track for the highly-anticipated film.

The recording marks Adele's first new music since her multi-million selling second album '21' was released back in January of 2011. '21' was the fastest-selling album in eight years and swept every category it was nominated for at the Grammy Awards, including nods for Album, Record and Song of the year.

The singer teased that she would be behind the Bond theme song last year on a visit to Jonathan Ross' talk show commenting, "I'm going back in the studio in November, fingers crossed. Well, this is actually a theme, that I've got to do. Wow, that's really giving something away."

The theme song for the upcoming film will be titled 'Skyfall.' The singer follows a long line of award-winning musicians who have sung a Bond theme song including Sir Paul McCartney, Dame Shirley Bassey, Duran Duran, Tina Turner, Tom Jones and Madonna.

Skyfall, starring Daniel Craig as James Bond along with Naomie Harris, Dame Judi Dench, Ralph Fiennes and Javier Bardem, is scheduled to be released in theaters on October 26, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the James Bond franchise.
