Soprano Sondra Radvanovsky Returns to the LA Opera in Recital Tonight

One of the most riveting operatic artists of our time, soprano Sondra Radvanovsky will return to the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion for her first recital appearance with LA Opera, at 7:30pm tonight, November 8, 2014.

Ms. Radvanovsky's stage presence and stunning vocal gifts have made her a favorite with Los Angeles audiences and have firmly established her as one of the leading stars on the international stage today. She made her LA Opera debut in 2004 as Leonora in Il Trovatore, followed by triumphant return appearances in the title roles of Suor Angelica in 2008, conducted by LA Opera Music Director James Conlon, and Tosca in 2013, conducted by LA Opera General Director Plácido Domingo. For her Los Angeles recital debut, she will be joined by a longtime collaborator, pianistAnthony Manoli, with whom she has worked for nearly 20 years.

About the Performance
For her Los Angeles recital repertoire, Ms. Radvanovsky and Mr. Manoli have selected an eclectic program that will include music by Beethoven, Verdi, Duparc, Rachmaninov and Copland.

About the Artist
The intensity and sincerity that Sondra Radvanovsky brings to the stage as one of the most prominent sopranos of her generation have won her accolades from critics and loyalty from passionate fans. During the 2013/14 season, she sang the title role of Norma,one of opera's most demanding roles, at the Metropolitan Opera. Other appearances of the season included Amelia in Un Ballo in Maschera in Vienna, Queen Elizabeth in Roberto Devereux in Toronto, and Tosca in London (in performances conducted by Plácido Domingo) and also at the Met and in Barcelona.

Appearances for the 2014/15 season include Norma in San Francisco, Barcelona and Munich, Anna Bolena in Chicago, Aida in Vienna and Un Ballo in Maschera at the Metropolitan Opera.
