UNCONSCIOUS DISTURBANCE

BIO:
UNCONSCIOUS DISTURBANCE is rooted in Sao Paulo, Brazil when drummer Daniel Freiberg and guitarist Patrick Caracas began playing together at the age of eight. This relationship formed into a friendship that would eventually evolve into a strong musical alliance. Years later in 2005, vocalist Frederico Carneiro joined Freiberg and Caracas, and UNCONSCIOUS DISTURBANCE was born. The trio recorded their first demo at a local recording studio where sound engineer and bassist Fadel Dabien, upon hearing the music, was instantly captivated and joined the band. Shortly after, they began to hold auditions for a second guitarist. However they soon realized a diamond in the rough—Daniel Freiberg's younger brother, Kiko Freiberg, who would eventually receive a B.A. in Music at Bard College, was a perfect fit. UNCONSCIOUS DISTURBANCE was now complete. In 2007, after recording their first DIY EP, UNCONSCIOUS DISTURBANCE toured through Canada, where they performed nightly to impressed and captivated crowds, as well as many great fan reviews. After this tour is when Mind's Corner, their band’s first major studio album released on December 4th, 2012, first transitioned from mind to music. Their album release show was selected by The Village Voice as one of the best 10 concerts to watch in NYC that week, alongside household names such as Chucho Valdes and Neil Young. Since their relocation to Brooklyn, NY in 2012, UD has been impressing small audiences with their high energy stage presence, chops, innovation, and profound musical sensitivity. SEE WHAT THE PRESS HAS BEEN SAYING ABOUT UNCONSCIOUS DISTURBANCE AND "MIND'S CORNER": “With so many bands trudging through the heftier side of rock, UNCONSCIOUS DISTURBANCE opens the doors wide to experimentation. Their Mind’s Corner is a terrific record, one of the very best in heavy music from 2012, cementing these dudes as a band to watch (and hear) for years to come.” – CanadianAudiophile.com “…There's more than connections to the likes of Cynic and Intronaut in the Brooklyn quintet's double-guitar plasticity, polyrhythm-method drumming, and stop-it-you'll-hurt-your-throat vocals.” – The Village Voice “UNCONSCIOUS DISTURBANCE have the makings of a new obsession for Heavy Blog. The Brooklyn-based progressive metal group pulls from their strong Brazilian heritage to create a richly psychedelic experience akin to the likes of Cynic, Intronaut, and Hypno5e.” – Heavyblogisheavy.com “UNCONSCIOUS DISTURBANCE: Kinda techy, kinda proggy, slightly jazz-inflected death metal.” – MetalSucks.net “The Brazilian, Brooklyn-based, prog metal band UNCONSCIOUS DISTURBANCE’s new album Mind’s Corner is epic. It follows a protagonist through a winding, heart-wrenching journey through beauty, disappointment, and discontent. Sounds like a melancholic, medieval, Nordic pirate reflecting on life and landscapes.” – The Brooklyn Paper “Musically it is great, the combination of all the instruments is amazing, they really do come together as a unified team of metal!” – BrokenNeckRadio. "The band shifts from style to style seamlessly. All the members are well-versed in playing a variety of musical genres."-TheMetalReview.com Description Big-city chaos fused with rhythmic and colorful instrumental lines is what generates the crushing and profound sonic experience that is UNCONSCIOUS DISTURBANCE.
