THEIR PLANES WILL BLOCK OUT THE SUN

BIO:
Beyond the grim imagery brought to mind by their name, it’s abundantly clear upon the first listen that five piece art rock act Their Planes will Block Out The Sun are not a Jersey band in any typical sense. Though calling North Jersey home, these five performers of wildly diverse interests and backgrounds have traded in the arena rock hooks, blaring guitar solo or even the post hardcore of recent years for intricate ambient rock, drawing from influences including Radiohead, The Smiths, Talking Heads, & Joy Division. From day one, each member brought to the table their own passion and experience, musically and personally, which combined, as in a finished puzzle, creates the singular entity which is Their Planes. They originally bonded over their shared desire to make complex, engaging, out of the ordinary music, which they themselves wanted to hear. The members backgrounds include both authentic rock ‘n roll guitars driven by Craig, a jazz driven rhythm section made up of John Falcone and Wayne Green, classically trained pianist Paul Falcone. Finally, and the messenger, delivering the bands shared vision and ideas in lyrical form Vic Fernandes. Back to that dystopian imagery we hinted at above—the name doesn’t exactly mean what you think. The idea behind the name as the band has collectively put it is that we're all like planes flying our own course and if we eclipse each other's light, taking full attention even just for a moment, then all of it is worth it. The band strive to channel the human experience and connection through music, having drawn influences from the struggles of loved ones, multiple members have significant others facing terminal illnesses, this strength in the face of adversity by those around them has served as a driving force for the band’s creative energy and passion. The same can be said for their live show. They never play the same set twice, and this energy, growth and passion is what forms the base of the band’s assent, earning them praise both in their home state and beyond, most recently this praise has included a feature in Relix Magazine, as well as a track included on a compilation the magazine released.
