Voodoo Music + Arts Experience in New Orleans is heating up thanks to a partnership between Zippo and Uber. As part of the collaboration, attendees will have the exclusive chance to ride through New Orleans and arrive at Voodoo Fest in style in the iconic Zippo Car, a 1947 Chrysler Saratoga outfitted with larger-than-life Zippo Windproof Lighters and neon flames.

On Saturday, October 29 from 11 a.m. 3 p.m. local time, New Orleans Uber users in the French Quarter / Marigny / CBD / Mid-City area can open the Uber app and when the car is available, select ZIPPO as a ride option. The Zippo Car will arrive to pick up lucky passengers for rides that will culminate at the Voodoo Uber Pickup Lot, located on Victory Avenue. Zippo Car riders will also be treated to custom Zippo swag, including limited-run lighters designed exclusively for riders in the Zippo Car, as well as Saturday Voodoo Fest tickets. Zippo Car rides are limited to two passengers per ride.

Zippo Car rides will only be available for request until 3 p.m. local time at which point, Uber users heading to the festival can enter the promo code ZIPPORIDE for a discount of up to $10 while supplies last (limit 1,000 rides). All rides must end at the Voodoo Uber Pickup Lot on Victory Avenue in order to be eligible for the discount.

Voodoo Fest attendees can also stop by the Zippo Encore booth throughout the weekend to purchase exclusive festival lighters and spin the Zippo wheel to win merchandise and VIP experiences. The Zippo Car will be on site at the Zippo Encore booth on Sunday, October 30 for photo ops.

"The Zippo Windproof Lighter has long been a staple of the music festival experience, used to signal an encore or show appreciation for a band or musician," said Lucas Johnson, Zippo Global Brand Manager. "We're proud to partner with Uber to celebrate Voodoo Fest attendees and music fans around the world, continuing our commitment to offering truly one-of-a-kind experiences through our Zippo Encore program."

Launched in 2009 by the Bradford, Pennsylvania-based Zippo Manufacturing Co., Zippo Encore provides music lovers with unique experiences and behind-the-scenes access at some of the top music tours and festivals around the world. With the exception of improvements to the flint wheel and modifications in case finishes, the product remains unchanged and is backed by the company's famous lifetime guarantee "It works, or we fix it free." Zippo's diverse product line includes lighters and accessories; butane candle lighters; fragrance, and a robust line of heat and flame products for outdoor enthusiasts. Zippo markets in nearly 200 countries and also owns the Ronson brand of lighters and fuel and W.R. Case and Sons Cutlery Company, both based in Bradford, Pennsylvania. Uber's mission is to make transportation as reliable as running watereverywhere, for everyone. We started in 2010 to solve a simple problem: how do you get a ride at the touch of a button? Six years and over two billion trips later, we've started tackling an even greater challenge: reducing congestion and pollution in our cities by getting more people into fewer cars.
