Martha Redbone takes the Capitol Center for the Arts stage for a performance filled with the soaring sounds of blues and soul. Redbone is an Independent Music Award-winning musician who pays passionate homage to her Cherokee, Choctaw, Shawnee and African-American cultural roots. This Free Gile Series performance will take place tonight, September 11at 7 PM. For tickets or more information, visit www.ccanh.com, call the Capitol Center Box Office at 603-225-1111, or visit the Box Office at 44 South Main Street, Concord, NH.

"Poised to be Americana's next superstar" (Village Voice), Redbone daringly fuses her Native American heritage with blues, funk and mountain music to create a wholly unique musical vibe. This performance will feature selections from Redbone's latest album Garden of Love-The Songs of William Blake, a tribute to the English Romantic poet's writing. These new tracks combine Redbone's soaring vocals, Blake's immortal words and a blend of roots music - including folk, country, piedmont blues, gospel, honky-tonk, bluegrass, soul and traditional Native American sounds.

The Garden Of Love - The Songs of William Blake embodies a sonic rebirth and fuller flowering of Rebone's own rootsy ethos. Warm, woodsy melodies take flight through the fusion of largely pre-war string-band instrumentation and her heart-worn mountain holler, as Sister Martha tells tales of eternal humanitarian values distilled in the Southland since before America was founded.

Redbone currently tours with the Martha Redbone Roots Project and has also performed at a number of World and Traditional Music Festivals including California WorldFest, Vancouver Folk Festival and New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. Never forgetting her roots, Redbone continually performs at tribal powwows and Native American events, including the 2013 Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian's Inaugural Ball in Washington, D.C.

The William H. Gile Concert Series opened on December 16, 1960 after a legacy of more than $700,000 was left by Helen B. Gile to finance a free concert series for the residents of Concord. The bequest was made in memory of Miss Gile's father, William H. Gile.

Tickets for this free Gile Series Performance are available now by calling 603-225-1111, online at www.ccanh.com, and at the box office, located at 44 South Main Street, Concord, NH 03301, on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. (Saturday hours between Labor Day and Memorial Day).
