Acclaimed L.A. foursome Warpaint will be the sole opener for Depeche Mode on their North American "Global Spirit" tour kicking off August 23 in Salt Lake City with further dates in New York City-with two nights at Madison Square Garden-Nashville, Austin, Los Angeles and more.

Additionally, the band will perform "Whiteout" on "Ellen" this Thursday, April 20. Rolling Stone recently praised "Whiteout," saying the track "enshrouds an austerely crackling dub-funk beat in refracted guitar shimmer as interweaving voices resolve in a Sufi state of opaque desire." The performance continues a massive year for the band, whose critically acclaimed third album Heads Up, was released in September.

The band performed an intense, well-received set at Coachella this weekend and will return this Saturday, April 22, to the Gobi stage at 8:25 p.m.

The band's hit "New Song"-which The New York Times says "feels, actually, like an old song: something from the end of the 1970s when punk, disco and Minimalism found common ground in repetition, simple chords and a danceable thump"-topped radio charts nationwide, and the band toured the U.S. twice to celebrate the release. Warpaint performed "New Song" on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" in December.

NPR Music filmed the band's October Washington, D.C. show as part of their Front Row performance series. Watch the entire concert here. See warpaintwarpaint.com for all announced tour dates.
