Vikki Carr with Mariachi Cobre to Perform at Tobin Center, 9/10
As part of the Tobin Opening Nights Celebration, The Tobin Center for the Performing Arts has announced the concert date of Vikki Carr with Mariachi Cobre on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at 7:30 pm in the HEB Performance Hall of The Tobin Center.
A legendary star of the stage and screen Vikki Carr has captivated audiences nationally and abroad for over 50 years with her melodic voice and presence. She is one of the best-loved and most accomplished entertainers in the United States, Latin America and Europe. In her illustrious career she has garnered four Grammy Awards including a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Recording Academy and has released over 60 best-selling recordings. She has performed for the Queen of England, five United States Presidents, wartime soldiers in Vietnam and sold-out audiences around the world. She has worked in radio, television, film and theater. Her music embraces four languages and she is among the first artists to bridge the cultures of the United States and Latin America, paving the way for many performers today.
Vikki will be joined on stage by Mariachi Cobre, the world renowned mariachi band from Walt Disney World's Mexico Pavilion at Epcot.
The Tobin Center will open in September 2014 with several "Opening Nights". Previously announced events in the Celebration include The Charlie Daniels Band (09/17), Bill Cosby (09/19), Loudon Wainwright III (09/20), The Piano Guys (09/23), and The Best of Jethro Tull performed by Ian Anderson (9/27).
Ticket for all Tobin Center for the Performing Arts events can be purchased in person at 115 Auditorium Circle (M-F 9-5pm).
